the 1963 - 1965 Missileland Band Trombone Section
It has been reported here and in various other reference sources that the 1963 - 1965 trombone section of the Cocoa High School Missileland Band was absolutely the greatest trombone section to ever come out of a high school band. During their high school years this section was known as "the Great 8" and consisted of members: John Hower, Lester Kahl, Henry Wolking, Wayne Baxley, Charlie Harris, Mike Slusher, Tim Swanson and Ed Schafer.
Many of these members rose to prominence both in and out of the music industry. In the coming weeks we will be developing this web page to honor the feats accomplished by this group
