Children of the 60's are now entering their 60's !
We were once children of the sixties. Now we are children in our sixties! I turned 60 on November 1, 2006 and I took a week off from work to reflect on the previous sixty years and to contemplate and meditate on my remaining years of my life. I asked myself these questions: How is a grandfather suppose to act? What is a grandfather suppose to be? What is expected of me now that I have truly become a "senior"?

I personally have made some mistakes and bad decisions in my life. During my week off I remembered that time of growing up in Rockledge, going to Cocoa High and then entering the world so ill-prepared for what was to come. It took me an awful long time to grow up and reach some degree of maturity. So what am I now to do with this newfound wisdom and maturity ?

I encourage all of you to take some time off from your busy day-to-day activity when you turn 60 and do what I did - reflect on the previous years of your life, remember the past, remember the good times and remember the bad times. If you can free up your mind enough you may be surprised at what you might learn of yourself.

We have a wonderful opportunity to share this wisdom and maturity with our children and grandchildren to see that they do not enter the world as ill-prepared as we did.

Remember what John and Paul (not the Apostles, the Beatles!) said - "all you need is love! " Celebrate becoming 60. And be sure to send us some photos of the event.

Let me be the first to post mine !

.......just because I turned 60 doesn't mean I can't let that "inner child" out !
